Physical Capacity Evaluation
A phyisical capacity evaluation (PCE) is a 4 hour, one time asssessment used to determine a client's current functional abilities. A PCE includes tests of an individuals strength, flexibility, endurance, manual dexterity and ability to perform in a work environment. These tests also include various tests to determine if the client is giving good effort during the evaluation. The PCE is useful for doctors trying to assess a patient's ability to return to work once a fixed and stable condition has been reached. A PCE can be requested by doctors, vocational councilors or attorneys.
